Thermal Spray Gun

Thermal Spray Gun is used for coating processes in which melted materials are sprayed on the surface to provide better polishing and remove foreign particles. Thermal spray guns provide thick coatings up to several mm depending on the application. Coating materials available for thermal spraying include metals, alloys, ceramics, plastics, and composites. The coal thermal spray guns are used for coating processes in which melted materials are sprayed on the surface to provide better polishing and remove foreign particles.

Thermal Spray Gun Working

Thermal spray gun is used to improve the metal surface. The main purpose of using a thermal spray gun is the expansion of the rotating shaft and increasing the life of machines.

The thermal spraying method can come up with thick coating over a large area at a high deceleration rate as compared to more coating processes. The thermal spray gun melts the material which results in molten droplets accelerated in a gas stream which is projected against the surface to be coated. Molten material helps in adhering to the particles, overlapping, and interlocking.

Types of thermal spray gun Manufacturer

Flame spray gun

Flame spray gun is generally used to spray the molten metal like zinc, copper, aluminium against the surface to enhance the surface quality. It is a type of thermal spraying. The molten material can be in the form of wire or powder depending on the application. If the zinc is sprayed then it will be called zinc spray gun, if the copper is sprayed it will be called copper spray gun similarly, for aluminium it will be called as an aluminium spray gun. Inflame spray guns, coating wire or powder is first melted in the gun then it gets atomized with the help of compressed air and deposits on the surface. The molten metal drops solidify on the surface of the substrate. It is the simplest among the oldest sprays processes. A flame spray gun also provides corrosion-resistant coatings and also offers a range of spray parameters for excellent coverage rates and best quality surface finish.

Wire flame spray gun

Wire flame spray gun uses an oxy-fuel flame to melt the wire completely. After the malting process, the melted metals atomized with the help of compressed air so that a spray stream can be created that can be applied on the surface for the coating purpose. In wire flame spray gun, the wire is fed into the front torch of flame spray through the turbine which is air driven. Mainly fuel gases like acetylene, LPG, Propene and oxygen is mixed properly in the siphon plug head assembly which provides a source for combustion.

High-velocity oxy-fuel spray gun

High-velocity oxy-fuel spray gun is being used for treating much tougher, more wear and corrosive surface. A mixture of liquid fuel and oxygen is fed into a combustion chamber, where they ignited continuously. The resultant hot gas emanated through a converging-diverging nozzle in a straight path. The stream of the hot gas and powder is directed towards the surface to be coated. The powder melts partially and deposits on the substrate. The resulting coating has low porosity and strong bond strength.

Arc spray gun

Arc spray gun uses an electric arc to melt wires. This process is mostly used for heavy coating of metallic on a surface. The moulted material is then atomized with the help of compressed air to create a spray stream that is applied on the surface on which coating is needed to form. Arc spray guns can be applied to both anti-corrosion and engineering coatings. Arc spray guns are considered easy to operate and also to automate. Arc spray gun uses two consumable wire of metal to feed the gun. These wires are charged to form an arc between them. The heat from this arc melts the wire of metal. The molten metal entrained in an air jet from the gun. Arc spray coating deposits on the work-piece with the help of compressed air.

Plasma flame spray gun

Plasma flame spray gun is used for both large surfaces as well as small internal bore diameters surface coatings. Plasma spray process includes the spraying of molten or heat softened materials onto a surface to provide a coating. Plasma spray gun develops sufficient energy to melt almost any material in powder form makes them suitable for a large variety of surface coatings. Materials in the form of powder are injected into a very high-temperature plasma flame, where they are heated and accelerated to a high velocity. This hot material impacts on the substrate surface and rapidly cools forming a coating. Plasma spray coatings are much denser and cleaner than the other thermal spray gun manufacturer processes with the exception of HVOF.
