Cast Steel Grits

Cast iron is melted, then grains are crushed and atomized to create cast steel grit. Because of their great hardness, the grains break down into sharp-edged particles during the blasting process, resulting in grits. Thus, cast steel grit is ideal for roughening and have excellent cleaning capabilities. Cast steel grits are white in texture, angular in shape, and contain 1.7% to 3.5% carbon.

We deliver a wide variety of sizes in our cast steel grit, which is general in size & runs from G14 - G120. It is simulated to SAE J444, J1993 specification. Steel Grit's angular shape is described by its potential to provide recyclability & lead to more serious commentator blast practices in assertive blast applications. Standard employs steel grit enclose bridge blasting, structural steel, abrasive blasting machine, epoxy coating prep, & pipe coating.

High carbon cast steel grit is the outcome acquired by overcoming heat-treated high carbon cast steel shot. The resulting angular bits are screened to a scope of sizes from G10 to G325 as described in J444.

An angular cast steel Grit created by crushing significant steel shot pellets a certain contain been heat-treated specifically. As a result, we are delivered martensitic steel steel grit. Classic crushers & a regulated procedure assemble it feasible to receive angular, well-organized, & abrasive shapes that are agreeably within the specifications demanded by SAE J199 & ISO 11124 standards.

Types of Cast Steel Grit

GP Steel Grit

40-51 HRc (per GS SAE Spec) / 470-550 HV (WA Spec)

Satisfied & tempered, angular when further, this grit quickly rounds off in usage & is especially fitted to descaling applications.

GB Steel Grit

47-56 HRc (per GM SAE Spec)

GB grit, which is better robust than GP grit, is a great option for surface preparation when employing a shot blasting Machine.

GL Steel Grit

54-61 HRc (per GL SAE Spec) / 570-720 HV (WA Spec)

Satisfied & hardened, GL is expressly conformed to surface preparation & descaling applications. Despite standing harder than GP & GB steel grit, it even yields its short edges in course of shot blasting process.

GH Steel Grit

60 HRc minimum (per SAE GH Spec) / 770 HV min. (WA Spec)

Assuaged with highest hardness, GH forever stays angular in its operational combination. These abrasive media are especially efficacious in surface treatment processes & assemble an unfluctuating, etched finish. For usefulness especially with air compressors compressed air equipment.

WGR Steel Grit

Granite & other hardened stone goods are cut employing excellent steel grits (WGR). For additional details, speak with our commercial-technical groups.

As a consequence of our massive base, we can construct these objects from current day machines in mass portions. Made employing compensation differential steel, these objects are considerably employed as an element of various stylish applications. Offered Cast Steel Grit Abrasive media is thoroughly inspected by our grade specialists on the assumption of:- material grade, consumption resistance, finish, dimension accurateness & so on.

Cast Steel Grit Features

  • material caliber.
  • resistance to consumption.
  • Close out.
  • Precision of measurement.

The cast steel grit shall be as angular as commercially possible. A totality of no more than 40% of the grit particles shall have objectionable characteristics or contain more than 1% by weight of nonmetallic material. Any particle tested that has more than one objectionable characteristic will just be calculated once in the total. Notwithstanding the allowable percentages listed as follows, no better than a total of 40% objectionable particles are allowed.

Steel Grit, also known as Cast Steel Grit, is a metallic blast-cleaning abrasive whose production adheres to the strictest standards & regulations. Cast Steel Grit is characterized by its angular shape, which suggests recyclability & produces more resonant anchorperson blast norms in aggressive blast applications.

Cast Steel Grit Characteristics

  • Particle Shape - For the hardened steel grits, HCS G(1)L, HCS G(1)H, there shall be no more than 5% round or half-round particles. For the soft steel grits, HCS G(1)S and HCS G(1)M, there shall be no more than 10% round or half-round particles.
  • Shrinkage - No more than 10% of the particles in a sample shall contain shrinkage. Shrinkage is an internal cavity with an irregular dendritic surface, greater in area than 40% of the pellet area.
  • Cracks - No additionally than 40% of the bits examined shall contain major cracks. A major crack is defined as a linear discontinuity whose length is greater than three times its width & is radial in direction.
  • Microstructure - Carbide networks, grain boundary segregation, decarburization, and elevated temperature changeover products like pearlite are avoided. No better than 15% of the bits tested shall contain these defects.
